How did Jon Scieszka get so funny? He grew up as one of six brothers with Catholic school, lots of comic books, lazy summers at the lake with time to kill, babysitting misadventures, TV shows, and jokes told at family dinner.

Add a CommentFunniest book I've read in a long time. A bunch of 6th graders recommended this book to me and I took the bait. My favorite Jon Scieszka is the Stinky Cheese Man, which is also extremely funny. I recommended the book to my parents who grow up around the same time and could relate to the stories that Jon told. Definitely a must read!
Hilarious! It took me awhile to convince my 9 year old son to read this but now he's read it 3 times in a row. Fun to read together, too.
This is a funny, smart and clever book. Anyone who likes Scieszka must read this book, as well as anyone who hasn't heard of him.
I've got a couple of boys, ages 7 and 9. I never read to them before bed anymore, but we had a short return to bedtime stories with this book. Nice short stories, easily broken up over a few nights. Probably the only bedtime stories I ever read that had to be paused while I stopped laughing.
