I recommend this book for reading because it brings insight on people with autism and sister and brothers of those with it. The view if from the siblings who know how it feels to deal with frustrations, the good and the bad of dealing with those that have autism. The book is very simple and very easy to read and understand. This is an example of really world characters. This would be a great book to introduce sibling relationships and also disabilities. The personal and passion for the way the story is told makes real life connections not only to the author but the readers as well.

I highly recommend this book because it touches a really sensitive topic, Autism. As adults we try to deal with different situations and sometimes we forget that our children have to deal with the same issues. I love the way this book portraits Catherine in her search to understand how to deal with her brother’s autism. The point of view that Catherine provides in the book has a profound message of understanding and love. This book has given me a deep understanding in how families with a disable member live, and how they thrives everyday making the best of life. This book is for anyone whose lives have been touched by autism or who would like to see how families deal with the day to day routines with an autistic child. A beautiful story!

Cynthia Lord captures the delicate dynamics in a family that revolves around a child's disability. I would definitely recommend this book for students because of how it is about being different and finding acceptance. It is a warm read and a great discussion starter for the class.

“Rules”, by Cynthia Lord is a book about a girl name Catherine and her brother David who struggles through life with autism. Catherine overcomes several obstacles when she learns more about her brother’s situation. This book is very interesting, eye-opening, happy, and unfortunately sad, all in one. I would definitely recommend this book to teachers and parents as a read aloud for children or as some kind of anticipatory set for a good lesson.

I recommend this book to any parent, teacher, or caregiver, of an autistic child. This book makes you realize what is really important in life, and how to handle certain situations appropriately. This book is at the same time sad, funny, and will make you smile as well. I think this is a great book for anyone who is just misunderstood and knows what it feels like to have to go through struggles. Catherine is the sister of David, who has autism, and the story is told through her eyes, and the struggles she went through and overcame as she learned more about her brother.

This is a wonderful book, a tear-jerker at some points but deffinitely a great book to read. I think this book helps children better understand all the struggles an autistic child has and all the family has to go through them. Even to the siblings in the family it is very hard on them, like in this story Catherine has to tell her brother to stop doing things he is not supposed to be doing. This character, Catherine is embrassed. But in the end she learns what really matters to her and what doesn't.
